Easy Chocolate-Filled Croissant Recipe

Easy Chocolate-Filled Croissant Recipe

When we think of pastries, the first thing that comes to mind is usually the savory ones like cheese, olives, or plain. But this time, I’m sharing a recipe that sweet lovers won’t be able to resist: Chocolate-Filled Pastries! These pastries not only look like croissants but also have a soft, fluffy texture and plenty of chocolate inside. They are perfect for breakfast, snack time, or whenever you crave a sweet treat. 🍫🥐

They are also a great option for your kids' lunchboxes! Who wouldn’t love to open their lunch and find a delicious, chocolate-filled surprise? 😋

Before diving into the details of the recipe, here’s the full video for those who prefer to follow along visually.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup lukewarm water 🥤
  • 1 cup milk at room temperature 🥛
  • 3 tablespoons sugar 🍚
  • 10 grams instant yeast 🍞 (let this mixture sit for 10 minutes to activate the yeast)
  • 1 classic tea glass of vegetable oil 🫒
  • 1 teaspoon salt 🧂
  • 1 heaping tablespoon of butter 🧈 (softened at room temperature)
  • A total of 5.5 classic cups of flour 🍞 (adjust the amount based on your flour quality and add it gradually).

Let’s Get Baking!

Start by mixing lukewarm water, milk, sugar, and instant yeast in a large bowl. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, allowing the yeast to wake up and do its magic.

You’ll see it get all foamy and bubbly—that’s when you know it’s ready!

Next, drizzle in the vegetable oil, sprinkle in the salt, and add the softened butter. Now, it’s time to gradually add the flour. Take your time and knead the dough gently. It should become soft and elastic under your hands.

Once you reach that perfect, smooth texture, cover it with plastic wrap and let it rest for 20-30 minutes. This is when the magic happens—your dough will rise and double in size!

When your dough is nice and puffy, divide it into equal portions. Roll each portion into little balls and then roll them out lengthwise.

Fold both sides over each other like you're folding a letter, and then roll it out a bit more. Add as much chocolate as your heart desires in the middle.

Roll up the dough into pastry shapes and place them on a baking tray. Give them a little time to rise again—about 20 minutes—while you get your oven preheated.

Once your pastries are all puffed up and ready, gently brush the tops with egg yolk and sprinkle with black cumin or sesame seeds if you like.

Pop them into the oven, preheated to 180°C (356°F), and let them bake to a beautiful golden brown. Keep an eye on them—they should be ready in about 25 minutes, but every oven is a little different.

And there you have it—your homemade, warm, chocolate-filled pastries are ready to enjoy!

I hope you love them as much as I do. If you have any questions or just want to share your baking experience, drop a comment below. And don’t forget to check out more delightful recipes in the Recipes Category. 🍽️✨
